About Ashland Youth for Electrification:
Ashland Youth for Electrification is a campaign led by the Rogue Climate Action Team organizing to pass a policy to transition new homes in Ashland off of fossil fuels. They are advocating for an emissions standard that would require new homes in Ashland to be built with efficient electric appliances. This is an important step for Ashland to implement it's Climate and Energy Action Plan, move forward climate action, and improve public health. Learn more and sign the petition here.
The City of Ashland has been moving slowly on this common-sense policy, but there is no time to waste. On Wednesday, September 13th Ashland's Climate and Environment Policy Advisory Committee is meeting to review a stakeholder engagement plan that will determine whether this policy moves forward. It's time to make sure they know the community wants to see meaningful action for climate justice. Rally with youth and community members on Wednesday, September 13th outside of the Climate and Environment Policy Advisory Committee meeting to show the City your support for bold and rapid action to electrify new homes.
